The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two pictures illustrate the how the layout of Central Library has changed over a period of 20 years.
Overall, library undergo significant changes, with most specific being relocated and replaced by new facilities. The most noticeable development was removal of central sitting area and introduce new facilities like cafe, computer room and lecture room.
Looking at the upper part of library, the area containing CDs, videos, and computer game 20 years ago has been replaced by sofa, a children's fiction books and storytelling area. Similarly, the children's book section was been converted into a lecture room. Additionally, adult fiction book which was previously on left corner of library has been moved to right corner in the present year.
In lower part of library, the reading room has been replaced with computer room over the period. Moreover, enquiry desk has been replaced with new cafe facilities. In addition, the tables and chairs that occupied the central area 20 years ago has been removed, making space for an information desk and self-service machines.
