The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given maps compare different floor plans in a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Looking at the twenty years ago floor plan, the bottom of the centre was the entrance, while there were tables and chairs in the centre. On the left-hand side, there was an adult fiction books section. On the right-hand side, there were adult non-fiction books. At the top left corner, there were CDs, videos and computer games, in contrast to the reading room. On the other side, there were children’s books at the top and an enquiry desk at the bottom.

Now, the entrance is same, while the tables and chairs have been removed. Moreover, the left side now has children’s fiction books and a computer room. Furthermore, a storytelling area and sofas have been added. On the right side, there is a lecture room, adult fiction books, an information desk, self-service machines and a café.

Overall, the library has changed a lot, with new areas added.
