Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, coming in at only 115 words. This significantly limits the development of the response. While the student attempts to report the main features of the library floor plan comparing 20 years ago to the present, such as the addition of the café, self-service machines, and lecture room, the overview is extremely brief and lacks comprehensive detail. Several descriptions are vague or inaccurate, such as stating that 'rest of library portions remain same just changing thier directions', which overlooks key transformations. Due to the under-length nature and limited development, the task achievement is restricted.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response is structured into very short, single-sentence paragraphs which fail to form a coherent progression of ideas. Although a few basic cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'However' (misspelled as 'Mowever') and 'Morever', their execution is flawed due to spelling and punctuation errors. The logical transition between sentences is weak, and the lack of proper paragraphing and cohesive referencing results in a disjointed text. Overall arrangement is basic, reflecting features of Band 4.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'floor plan of public library', 'how it looks like in todays time', and 'new areas that added' demonstrate limited lexical range and frequent word choice/collocation issues. There are also several spelling errors, including 'Mowever', 'todays', 'seperate', and 'thier'. The vocabulary is barely adequate to communicate the basic meaning of the visual data, aligning with a Band 4 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempt complex forms with severe errors, such as missing articles ('the 20 years old floor plan of public library'), awkward prepositional use, and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation is largely neglected, and capitalisation rules are ignored at the beginning of sentences. Errors are frequent and often impede fluency, though the general meaning remains partially decipherable.
