Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main changes shown on the floor plan, such as the removal of tables and chairs, the conversion of the children's books area into a lecture room, and the transformation of the reading room into a computer room. However, the overview is extremely brief and lacks a clear summary of the overall spatial transformation. Additionally, there are several inaccuracies in reporting the spatial details, such as confusing the locations of adult fiction and reference books. Because of the limited development, partial overview, and descriptive inaccuracies, this falls under Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall organisation and progression are weak. The introduction is only a single sentence, and the body paragraphs rely heavily on run-on sentences connected by conjunctions like 'and', 'However', and 'Furthermore'. Cohesive devices are either overused mechanically or misused, leading to a lack of clear logical flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty, resulting in a score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, relying directly on labels from the map such as 'computer games', 'storytelling events', and 'reading room'. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'illusturates' instead of 'illustrates', 'corns' instead of 'corners', and 'equiry' instead of 'enquiry'. These errors, combined with a lack of less common lexical items or paraphrasing, restrict the lexical score to Band 4.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writing exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or faulty attempts at complex forms connected by coordinating conjunctions. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as tense confusion ('In 20 years ago the CDs... and change into'), missing articles, and subject-verb agreement issues ('the adult fiction books is add'). These persistent errors frequently strain the reader and reflect Band 4.5 performance.
