The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagrams dipict a public libary,Central Library, in diffrent time periods. The transformations in the layout and allocated rooms in the span of 20 years are discussed below.

The structure of the building has not changed much in exception to the enquiry desk which has been converted into a cafe. Furthermore, the enquiry desk has likely been replaced by the self-service machines and the information desk beside the cafe.The adult non-fiction books section which formerly occupied this space now no longer exsist and the remaining space is used by the adult fiction books section. Morevover, the previous adult fiction books section is now used for the reference books.

The tables and chairs that were initially in middle of the library are now absent.The children's books section is now moved to another room while the former is now a lecture room.The new childerns's fiction books section has developed storytelling events and seating facilities.

The room containing CDs,videos and computer games has likey been modified into the computer room which previously housed the reading room. In conclusion , there are significant changes in both the versions of the library as fitting to the changing times.
