The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram pictures the floor plan of a central library 20 years ago in contrast with how the central library looks like today.

It is observed that the central library have had a significant difference within 20 years, all the rooms at each corner sides has been modified to a more better room facilities. Table and chairs have also been removed from the middle part of the building, making it less clumsy. Overall, the entrance still keeps it's position.

20 years ago, the top left room was occupied with CDs, Videos, computer games, but as of today the room is modified into a place where storytelling events happens, you can also get a children fiction book, it includes two sofas where people can seat on, while at the top right corner the room contained children's books but it was later coverted to a lecture room.

At the center of the room by the left, the room formally contained an Adult fiction books but it was latered converted to a place where all reference books are kept, the Adult fiction books were moved to the right corner at the center of the room which also contains an information desk with three self-service machines.

The left bottom of the room was formally used as a reading room (Newspaper & magazines) but it was converted to a computer room while the enquiry desk was turned to a cafe room afterwards.

The tables and chairs that was present in the library 20 years ago was completely removed, leaving a wide space entrance.
