The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps laid out illustrate the fabrications made to the floor plan of a public library over the preiod of 20 years.

In a cursory glance of the maps it is evident that the most significant change is the eradication of the tables and chair which were present in the middle of the library 20 years ago. Additionally, the four corner stations remain in place with particular changes to their operations.

Furthermore, on the top left corner of the floor plan 20 years ago displays a room designated for CDs, videos and computer games, along with another room on the top right corner assigned for children's books. Additionally the left corner room is specifically named the Reading room retaining newspapers and magazines, along with this the right corner rooms hosts enquiry desk for the facilitation of tickets and book returns. Moreover the adult fiction books are placed in the left middle spot and adult non-fiction books are placed towards the right middle area of the library.

Conversely, the current floor layout display the alterations such as the top left room as now been designated for the children's fiction books, along with hosting storytelling events. The top left rooms has now been transformed into lecture room, and the the left corner room is now the computer room, furthermore the right corner rooms has been redeveloped into a slightly bigger cafe. The prior area of adult fiction books has now been replaced by the placement of all reference books. Acommpanying this the slot for adult non fiction books have been converted to the area for adult fiction books, inclusion of information desks and self-service desks.
