Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response falls significantly short of the 150-word minimum, containing only 82 words. Because of this severe length penalty, the student cannot fully develop an overview or report the main features adequately. While the writer attempts to introduce the diagram and mentions a couple of changes (such as the reading room and computer room), the overall summary is extremely sparse and omits many key spatial comparisons between the two floor plans.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The text is heavily fragmented with very short paragraphs and disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic (e.g., 'To begin with', 'In addition'), and the logical progression between ideas is impeded by the abrupt ending and lack of development. Paragraphing is not used effectively to structure the comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. Words like 'change', 'floor', and 'room' are reused without much variety. There are noticeable lexical and collocation errors, such as 'there are nothing in the floor' and 'on the west side of near entrance'. The range is strictly limited and minimally adequate only for basic statements.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence structures. There are several persistent errors in basic grammar and subject-verb agreement, such as 'the diagram highlight' instead of 'highlights', 'twenty years ago there are' (tense error), and 'there are nothing'. Punctuation around commas is also awkward.
