Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main purpose as comparing the library before and now, and you report several genuine changes: the central tables and chairs have been removed, and the present plan includes a computer room, café, lecture room and storytelling area. However, the overview is vague and some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the old plan has six named facilities around the central area, but “four corner four” does not communicate this; the new plan’s information desk and self-service machines are also not clearly described. The statement that rooms changed only “marginally” conflicts with substantial conversions, such as the old reading room becoming a computer room. Select the major conversions and describe them precisely to make the comparison more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by descriptions of the old and current layouts. This gives the reader a general sense of the comparison. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several location references are difficult to follow. The phrase “children's books, adults non-fiction and enquiry desk in right side” groups features without clearly distinguishing their positions, while “near this side” and “Hare one adult fiction books” make the current layout hard to trace. Linking expressions such as “followed by” and “in additionally” are either awkward or do not show the intended relationship. Organise each plan consistently by side or from top to bottom, and use clear references such as “on the left” and “in the lower-right corner”.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a floor plan, including “central,” “section,” “facilities,” “self service machines” and “information desk.” These terms help convey the topic, but the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate enough to make details unclear. Examples include “comparision,” “sereral,” “fcilities,” and “Hare,” as well as “four corner four,” which does not express a clear spatial description. Phrases such as “developed more than before” are also too general for a map comparison. Build a more precise set of location and change expressions, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, describe a room as “converted into” another use and locate it “in the upper-left corner.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is weak and errors occur throughout. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “The two figure illustrates” and “all room has,” while tense and verb forms are faulty in “has significantly change” and “have removed.” Articles and prepositions are also often missing or misplaced, as in “in the center of library” and “in right side of library.” Sentence boundaries and capitalization need attention: “over the years.Central” runs two sentences together, and “in additionally,All” is not correctly punctuated. These patterns sometimes make relationships between features difficult to understand. Practise accurate present and past descriptions, agreement, and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
