Central Library 20 years ago
Student answer (Band 4.5)
In this picture there is the comparison between the central library 20 years ago and the library which is built now . There is the clear difference between them due to there setting for example in the first library which is 20 years ago it is so simple that it includes table chair in the middle of library while the new library incules a proper cafe for eating purposes and sofa for story telling events. another thing which i had noticed that the version of these book in new library has been updated there are so mainy new book in new library. now a days things are getting advanced so that in a new library there is the proper place where story telling events happen for childerns beacause it is imp to tell the story to childern. The thing which i like the most the arrangment in new library and the corner of referance books in todays library beacause it is very imp for a student of having referance book with them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the broad contrast between the older and current library, mentioning the former’s tables and chairs and the newer café and storytelling area. However, the response only partially reports the plan: it gives personal opinions and general claims such as “there are so many new book” rather than describing the main changes accurately. Several important changes are omitted, including the lecture room, computer room, information desk and self-service machines, and the reorganisation of reference and fiction books. The claim that the book collection has been updated with “so many new book” is not supported by the diagram. A clearer overview of the major spatial changes, followed by accurate comparisons of key areas, would make the response more fully relevant to the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces a comparison, gives a few differences, and ends with a personal preference. Linking expressions such as “for example,” “another thing,” and “now a days” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the information is presented as one long paragraph, with no clear grouping of changes or progression through the plan. Some links are vague, such as “another thing which i had noticed,” and the repeated focus on personal reactions interrupts the comparison. Organise the response into an introduction and overview, then group details by areas or by what was removed and added. Use clear references to the old and current plans so readers can follow each change.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “cafe,” “sofa,” “story telling events,” and “referance books,” so the reader can recognise several features of the plans. However, the range is limited and some wording is imprecise or repetitive, such as “proper place,” “things are getting advanced,” and “the version of these book.” Spelling errors, including “incules,” “childerns,” and “arrangment,” also reduce accuracy. Some expressions sound conversational or evaluative rather than suited to a factual report. Build a more precise set of terms for describing locations and changes, such as “was replaced by,” “was converted into,” and “was relocated,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “the first library … is so simple that it includes table chair … while the new library…,” but these structures are often faulty or difficult to follow. Errors include missing or incorrect articles and plurals (“table chair,” “new book”), awkward clause construction (“The thing which i like the most the arrangment”), and inconsistent punctuation and capitalisation. The response relies heavily on simple present forms and does not consistently use clear past-versus-present comparisons. Practise accurate comparative structures, such as “The reading room was replaced by a computer room,” and separate ideas into complete sentences. More controlled sentence patterns would make the meaning easier to understand.
