In this picture there is a map of a public library 20 years ago .

And also there is a picture of the library which is now newly constructed on the place of old library.

OLD LIBRARY:

From the enterance, on right side there is ticket shop ,book returning area and also enquiry desk. On the left side there is a reading room where someone can sit and read news paper.

There is also a coridor where are tables and chairs and on left and right of these chairs there are adults books fiction and non fiction.

There are also books for children and computers to play video games.

TODAY

Central library is totally changed today. There is also a cafe and a computer room and it keeps adult fictional books.

There is also a lecture room and a room for storytelling to children .It also keeps two sofas for sitting.

Now this look is so modern according to the requirments of these days.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the two plans and report several genuine changes, including the addition of a café, computer room, lecture room and storytelling area. However, the comparison is only partial and lacks a clear overview of the main reorganisation. Some details are inaccurate or imprecise: the old plan has an enquiry desk, not a “ticket shop,” and the children’s books and CDs, videos and computer games are separate areas. You also omit important changes, such as the removal of the central tables and chairs, the conversion of the old reading room into a computer room, and the new self-service machines and information desk. The final comment that the library looks modern is subjective rather than a summary of the plan’s key features. Group the major changes and describe them accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic structure, with separate sections for the old library and today, and the reader can generally follow the order of your description. However, the information is not developed into a clear overall progression: the opening repeats that there are two pictures, while the main paragraphs list selected features without systematically comparing corresponding areas. Linking is limited, with repeated use of “There is also,” and some sentences are joined awkwardly, such as “There is also a coridor where are tables and chairs and on left and right of these chairs…” Use a concise overview followed by organised comparisons—for example, describe the left side of both plans, then the right side—and use clear references such as “this area became” to connect changes.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to identify several library facilities, including “reading room,” “lecture room,” “storytelling,” and “computer room.” Some wording is also relevant to describing change, as in “totally changed.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for this task. “Ticket shop” mislabels the enquiry desk, “adults books” is not the correct form, and “keeps adult fictional books” is an awkward way to describe the collection. Spelling errors such as “enterance,” “coridor,” and “requirm ents” (written as “requirments”) also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of terms for library areas and use standard collocations such as “houses,” “contains,” and “was converted into.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You communicate some information through simple sentences and make attempts to combine ideas, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “on right side there is ticket shop” is missing articles, while “There is also a coridor where are tables and chairs” has an incorrect clause structure. The sentence beginning “There are also books for children and computers…” does not clearly show how the items relate to the plan. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including the abrupt “OLD LIBRARY:” and “TODAY” headings and the full stop before “It also keeps.” Practise accurate location patterns such as “To the right of the entrance is…” and use past and present forms consistently when comparing the plans.
