Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several important changes, including the removal of the central tables and chairs, the conversion of the former reading room into a computer room, and the replacement of the enquiry desk with a café. However, the overview is unclear and does not summarise the overall reorganisation accurately: “All library sides change in today” is too general. Some details are also confused. The enquiry desk was in the bottom-right area, not on the entrance’s left, and the café is a new room rather than a direct replacement in the same enclosed space. You mention the new lecture room and children’s fiction area only briefly, while omitting other key changes such as the self-service machines. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence, beginning with an overview and then describing several areas of the library. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because locations and changes are sometimes combined in the same sentence without clear relationships. For example, the final sentence moves from the former CDs room to the lecture room without explaining their positions or how they relate. Some transitions, including “although” and “nevertheless,” do not clearly express the intended contrast. Organise the details into clearer groups—perhaps left side, right side, and central area—and use straightforward comparisons such as “whereas” or “in contrast” only when the relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a library plan, including “entrance,” “reading room,” “adult fiction books,” and “information desks.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the changes. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “coridour,” “Initillay,” and “children fiction boos.” Phrases such as “the different features” and “all library sides change” are vague, while “addition” is used where a more precise description of a change is needed. Aim to use accurate terms for locations and transformations, such as “section,” “relocated,” “converted into,” and “replaced by,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to use both simple statements and longer sentences with contrast, for example, “the entrance … are same in both years while table and chair removed.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, tense, agreement, and articles make the meaning unclear. Examples include “20 years and addition the different features,” “table and chair … it has remove,” and “the mid rooms name are.” The past and present are also not consistently distinguished when comparing the two plans. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and keep past descriptions in the past tense and current features in the present. Careful punctuation and sentence boundaries would also improve readability.
