Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall change—that the library has been modernised—and report several accurate relocations and additions, including the new storytelling area, computer room, lecture room, café, information desk and self-service machines. This gives the response a relevant overview and covers the main parts of the plan. Some comparisons, however, are unclear or incomplete: the central area is described as “more empty space,” although the plan simply shows that the tables and chairs have been removed, and the changes to the former reading room and reference-book areas are only briefly mentioned. The statement that the children’s books moved from the top right to the top left is also imprecise: the new top-left room is specifically for children’s fiction and storytelling. More precise descriptions of these changes would strengthen the overview and detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing changes by location. This helps the reader follow the comparison, and phrases such as “Looking at the top left side” and “at bottom left side” provide some signposting. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always smooth. The overview combines several changes in a long, unclear sequence, while the final paragraph moves from the top-right room to the middle-right and then bottom-right without consistently signalling those shifts. Linking expressions such as “in addition,” “furthermore” and “lastly” are attempted, but some are awkwardly placed or do not clarify the relationship between details. Grouping changes by side or by type, and using clearer references to the two plans, would make the organisation more coherent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a library plan, including “self service machine,” “reference book,” “information desk” and “lecture room.” These terms help convey the main changes. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “changed” and “updated,” and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “modernization equipments,” “empty space” and “self service wending machines.” Spelling errors such as “significan,” “chnged,” “childern” and “refernce” also make parts of the description harder to read. Aim for precise map vocabulary and check spelling carefully; verbs such as “was converted into,” “was relocated to” and “was replaced by” can express changes more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with linking phrases, but control of sentence structure is limited. For example, “Overall, There is a significan Change is past and present” does not form a clear grammatical sentence, and “place have been totally changed” has problems with agreement and article use. In “in last middle left side is changed with refernce book,” the sentence pattern and tense make the relationship between the area and its new use difficult to understand. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including unnecessary capitals after commas and sentence openings. Use clear past-versus-present forms, such as “The reading room was replaced by a computer room,” and check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your comparisons easier to follow.
