Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest reasons for valuing home ownership, including avoiding rent, passing property to children, and having greater control over the home, and you clearly regard this preference as positive. However, the reasons are only partly developed, and the explanation of why this is especially important in some countries remains general. The reference to European mortgage policies is not clearly connected to the broader question, while the point about inheritance in Asian countries could use explanation or support. The conclusion repeats the benefits rather than adding a developed final judgement. The response is also 9 words below the required minimum, so it needs a little more relevant development to meet the task fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding statement. This gives the reader a basic structure and makes the overall position identifiable. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from rent to mortgage policies and inheritance without clearly showing how each point supports the main explanation. Some links are mechanical, and the contrast signalled by “On the other hand” is unclear because the paragraph continues to give reasons for ownership rather than presenting a contrasting view. Improve cohesion by grouping related reasons, using clearer links between claims and examples, and ensuring each paragraph has one central focus.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “mortgage policy,” “property,” “financial stability,” and “sense of security,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “next generation” and “modification.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “biggest dream,” “well positioned job,” and “positive reinforcement” where the intended meaning appears to be a positive outcome or benefit. Spelling errors such as “intance,” “stongly,” and “accomodation” are noticeable. Build accuracy by learning common housing-related collocations and checking spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “you payed and get the reward after years” and a contrast between renting and owning. However, many sentences contain errors in sentence construction, agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation, and these sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “in most societies where owning a home is considered…” is an incomplete sentence, while “People admires” has subject–verb disagreement and “you payed” uses an incorrect verb form. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “becoming a owner” and the run-on punctuation in several places. Practise building complete sentences first, then check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation.
