In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
today,it might be one of big problem peoples face in almost every nation housing is serious issue because everone wants a good space for living its not matters home is yours or on rent therefore first of shelter is basic need for every people in many countris people lives in tents, mud houses so firstly condition is more important.
definitely there are many advantages of own home we can so anything there and it is good for money saving we do not need tp pay rent we also have freedom to install or change anything at a time. specially is somes countries have a own place to live is necccasary like in major nation where rental apartment and houses are very expensive middle class can,t afford it. this is also a long term stabilty in future the value of property gain its owner get lot profit in many countries peoples try to buy more places, apartment, mansion because they wanted to get financial gain in upcoming time.
on the other hand spend life in rental place dencent for those people who can not have status to bought a own property but there are lot of issues such as if you to want to changing in rental house first of all you need to get permission from your place owner, you also can pay rent every month not matter you have money or not these are side effect of rental home
overall whoes people have their own property it is a long term investment and also good for their childran in future

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that owning a home offers freedom, avoids monthly rent and can provide financial security, and you indicate that you view ownership positively. These are relevant reasons, especially the point that property may gain value and benefit children in the future. However, the explanation of why home ownership is especially important in some countries remains general; the reference to expensive rentals and middle-class affordability needs clearer development. The opening also shifts to housing and shelter as basic needs, rather than directly explaining the cultural or social importance of owning a home. Your view is present, but the conclusion mostly repeats the investment point instead of weighing the situation or briefly acknowledging its limitations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable overall shape, moving from an introduction to advantages of ownership, disadvantages of renting, and a concluding view. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected strings, as in the opening sentence and the discussion of property investment. Linking phrases such as “on the other hand” and “overall” help signal shifts, but connections between individual claims are often unclear or repetitive. The contrast between owning and renting could be organised more deliberately, with one paragraph explaining why ownership matters in particular countries and another evaluating its benefits and drawbacks. Clearer sentence boundaries and references would make the argument easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “shelter,” “rental apartment,” “permission,” “long term investment” and “financial gain,” so the reader can identify the subject and main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “good space for living,” “status to bought a own property” and “side effect of rental home” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “everone,” “necccasary” and “stabilty” are also noticeable. To improve, learn accurate phrases for housing and financial security, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish cultural importance, affordability and investment value.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to express reasons and contrast ideas, including clauses beginning “because,” “if” and “although”-type contrasts, but most sentences rely on simple patterns or become long and difficult to control. Frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation can make the reader pause. Examples include “people lives in tents,” “we do not need tp pay rent,” “if you to want to changing” and “people have their own property it is a long term investment,” where clauses are not joined or formed accurately. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate verb forms and punctuation. This will make your reasoning clearer while allowing you to show a wider range of structures.
