Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why home ownership is important and providing an opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'freedom' and 'financial security' as reasons, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the second paragraph focuses on the ability to modify a house, but the explanation is slightly circular. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more specific examples or logical consequences. Your position is clear throughout, but the conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'The first and foremost reason' and 'In conclusion', which help the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'The another reason'. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the awkward phrasing in the introduction. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that transitions between sentences are smoother would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'having a own house is must' (should be 'a must') and 'emotion of a individual' (should be 'an emotional investment'). You rely on basic vocabulary, and there are some spelling errors like 'oen' and 'personaly'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'financial stability', 'long-term investment', or 'autonomy', and ensure correct spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include missing articles ('a apartment'), subject-verb agreement errors ('it give freedom'), and punctuation mistakes, such as unnecessary commas or missing spaces after punctuation. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles, verb forms, and sentence punctuation.
