Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why home ownership is important and whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention emotional connection and financial security, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the explanation of home loans is unclear and lacks a logical link to the broader argument. The position is stated in the conclusion, but it could be more clearly articulated in the introduction to guide the reader. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea supported by clear examples or reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To begin with' and 'Besides this' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'they can fill up by the instalment and also help by the money', where the connection to the previous clause is weak. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'house', 'money', and 'people'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'personal house property', 'residence are also think', and 'buy a some thing different'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'real estate', 'financial stability', 'long-term investment', or 'autonomy', and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a high frequency of grammatical errors throughout the essay, which often impedes communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('many individuals are think', 'residence are also think'), incorrect verb forms ('they are believes', 'many person are believes'), and misuse of articles and prepositions. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs. Proofreading for these fundamental errors will significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
