In the current societal landscape owing a home or renting it is a phenomenon that is commonly witnessed among diverse population. The some countries opine that purchasing or building your own house is better option. In this sophisti-cated era, the rent are rising at its peak point, resultantly which makes difficult to public to afford them. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why home ownership is important and providing an opinion on whether it is a positive or negative situation. The ideas are relevant, such as rising rents and the freedom to modify one's property. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The explanation of why it is a 'negative' situation is brief and lacks depth compared to the 'positive' aspects. While the position is clear, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The response covers all requirements, but the analysis remains at a somewhat superficial level, which is characteristic of a band 6 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices, such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', and 'nevertheless'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'resultantly which makes difficult to public'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. While the overall progression is logical, the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible or natural, which limits the score to a 6.0. Improved variety in linking words and better control over sentence-level cohesion would enhance the clarity of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'societal landscape' and 'sophisticated era', but these are sometimes used inaccurately or in contexts that feel slightly unnatural. There are also recurring errors in word choice, such as 'owing a home' instead of 'owning' and 'the rent are rising at its peak point'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range and occasional inaccuracies in collocation prevent a higher score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'the some countries', 'it will gives benefit', 'you dos not has', and 'the renting or owning a house have'. These errors are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader, although they do not completely impede communication. The control over subject-verb agreement and article usage is inconsistent. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex structures are formed correctly to avoid these persistent errors.
