Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the importance of home ownership and an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons such as financial security and personal freedom, the explanation of the 'negative' aspect is confusing. For instance, the second paragraph discusses the drawbacks of construction and the stress of renting, which seems to contradict the prompt's focus on the situation of home ownership itself. The position is somewhat clear, but the arguments lack depth and logical progression, often becoming repetitive or tangential.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by unclear transitions and awkward phrasing. While you use cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', they are often followed by sentences that do not logically connect to the previous point. For example, the transition to the second paragraph is abrupt, and the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. More careful planning of how ideas relate to one another is needed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Financial presence' instead of 'financial resources' and 'luck of money' instead of 'lack of money'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'doing programs' to describe daily life. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the reliance on basic vocabulary prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to finance and housing, and ensure you are using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'ownership helps create sence'), missing articles, and punctuation errors, such as inconsistent spacing before and after commas. Sentence boundaries are often blurred, and the misuse of capitalization (e.g., 'Permanent', 'Cash', 'School') is distracting. While the errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to cause difficulty for the reader and indicate a lack of control over complex structures.
