Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by explaining why home ownership is valued and providing a balanced view on whether this is positive or negative. Your position is clear throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, such as financial security and the burden of debt, though some points could be developed with more specific examples or depth to reach a higher band. For instance, the mention of 'societal pressure' is a strong point, but it could be expanded further to explain how this pressure manifests in different cultures. Overall, the response is well-structured and directly answers the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, such as the benefits of ownership, the downsides, and the societal impact. You use cohesive devices like 'However', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions between sentences feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'the drawbacks discusses earlier'). Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate distinct ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'financial security', 'unprecedented pressure', and 'nomadic'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'critices', 'ehy', 'loacation', 'buyig', and 'unadressed'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, you should aim for more precise collocations and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate basic spelling mistakes, which currently prevent the score from reaching a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'While owning a house provides boosts self esteem and confdence, the drawbacks discusses earlier must not be ignored.' There are several grammatical slips, including missing articles ('owning a home is type of financial security'), subject-verb agreement issues, and punctuation errors. While these errors are frequent, they rarely cause confusion for the reader. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on refining your control over complex sentence structures and ensuring consistent accuracy in articles and verb forms.
