Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both parts of the prompt—explaining why home ownership is important and expressing an opinion on whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped and often unclear. For instance, your explanation of why people value home ownership is fragmented, and your reasoning for why it is a 'negative situation' is difficult to follow due to limited vocabulary and incomplete sentences. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples and ensure your position is clearly articulated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical flow. While you use basic paragraphing, the transitions between ideas are often abrupt or missing. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes misused, such as the repetitive use of 'negative situation' and 'society issues' without clear links to the preceding or following sentences. The conclusion is particularly weak, as it merely repeats the introduction rather than summarizing the main points. To improve, focus on using linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your ideas more effectively and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which hinders your ability to express complex ideas. Many words are used incorrectly or are misspelled, such as 'addication' (likely meaning 'addition' or 'reason'), 'quilitys' (qualities), 'decoretion' (decoration), and 'expencive' (expensive). There is a lack of variety in your word choice, and you rely heavily on basic terms. To improve, try to learn synonyms for common words and focus on the correct spelling and usage of topic-specific vocabulary related to housing and economics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are many sentence fragments, such as 'all people not affordable price , society issues', which lack a main verb. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, and there are issues with word order and article usage. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction—ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb—before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for basic punctuation and verb tense consistency is also essential.
