Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the importance of home ownership and an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention financial stability and banking options, the explanation is often repetitive or unclear, such as the point about businesses failing. The position is generally clear, but the arguments lack depth and supporting evidence. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea rather than listing several points briefly. The conclusion is somewhat confusing, as it introduces new points about modifying property that were not discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In addition to,' which is grammatically incomplete, and 'In contrast,' which is used to introduce a point that does not logically follow the previous argument. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the flow of ideas. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the logical progression of arguments is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors that obscure the intended meaning.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'house,' 'property,' and 'money.' There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'staidly increase' (likely meaning steadily), 'make people to proud,' and 'work with multinational organization.' Some phrases are awkward, such as 'banking center' and 'EMI feature,' which hinder the precision of your argument. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'having personal home make people,' 'property rate is staidly increase'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, making them difficult to parse. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are almost always marred by errors. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralisation, before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
