Student answer (Band 5.5)
Most of the people consider to having their own home instead of renting because of the cost of living . this might be positive or negative impact on people themselves.
In the fast changing world and rising prices for everything people want to secure themsleves. in some countries most of the people owing the home for their financial security rather then renting. Because people found it very expensive to pay the rent every month and it could be increase every year . owning a home provides stability for families . parents secure the place for their children to live in future.
moreover , it gives them investment benefits as well. later on the value of house will increase which can be useful if there is any kind of emergency . But living in rental home is bit stressful, sometime people have to share an appartment with stranger and it could be unsafe . some people can't afford their own house then they can rent a house rather than borrowing money or taking loan it could lead to person in high debt .
To sum up every coin has two sides . From my side negatives can outweigh the positive impacts . owning a home can make a positive impact on people personal life by giving them financial security and a safe home. They can design it according to their own choice .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for home ownership and an opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the discussion on the 'negatives' of home ownership is brief and lacks sufficient supporting evidence. The position is stated but could be more clearly articulated throughout the essay. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or explanations to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition in the final paragraph. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between ideas could be smoother. For example, the shift from discussing investment benefits to the stress of renting feels disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence will help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'most of the people consider to having' and 'it could be increase'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is some repetition of basic terms. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary. Focus on learning how to use words in their correct grammatical context to avoid errors that occasionally hinder clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'people found it very expensive' (should be 'find') and 'it could lead to person in high debt' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. The frequency of these errors is noticeable and occasionally impacts the readability of the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
