Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 178 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both parts of the prompt—explaining why home ownership is important and expressing an opinion on whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the points regarding 'stability' and 'success' are mentioned but lack sufficient elaboration or real-world examples to fully explore the topic. To improve, you must expand your body paragraphs with more detailed explanations and specific illustrations to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the paragraphing is not effectively used; the body paragraphs are very short and lack internal cohesion. While you use some transition signals like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', the flow between sentences is often mechanical. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'it is use for any kind of need', where the pronoun 'it' does not clearly refer back to a specific noun. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear main idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'important', 'people', and 'own home'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'considering own home has show the success' and 'any mishappening'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a more varied range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations related to housing and socio-economic status. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'owning their personal houses are'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'anybody can not afford it so it is generally think'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Proofreading your work for these common errors will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
