Student answer (Band 5.0)
Having a house is blessing whether the house is own or house rented. because it is the basic need of every person earth.
So, the question is the owing a house or renting one is a case positive and negative situation. people with their home and people live on rented home are face different problems both situations are vary from each other.
the person who live his own home do what he want. his own living rules which he make himself. he has to never give any explanation to someone for what he did or what he want to do. he can change any thing in his house like decorations install gadgets replace furniture etc. he have to just pay utility bills. the good thing is this he has not to face stress that the landlord tell him to leave the home any time. he has free will, personal space. He can use kitchen and bathrooms anytime. Just some investment in a months to maintain the home. some times the save money is not enough for the maintain the home which is a stress full condition but you can lives in your own home without any fear just pay tax to the government
And the person who live in the rented place face many problems like parking issues not do many things what he want. sometimes shares apartment with someone and here things get weird if home mate is not corporates with you. you had to follow the unwanted rules which makes your life complicated. you have to stress about to pay rent every month if you would not pay it you may be a homeless
so owing a house in some countries is good thing and it is a positive situation

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why home ownership is important and whether it is a positive or negative situation. However, the development is limited. The reasons for the importance of home ownership are somewhat repetitive, focusing mainly on personal freedom and avoiding landlord issues. The position is clear, but the argument lacks depth and academic structure. The introduction is weak and does not clearly paraphrase the prompt or outline the essay's direction. To improve, you should provide more nuanced reasons, such as financial stability or social status, and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no proper introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphing is inconsistent, with the main body paragraphs being poorly defined. Cohesive devices are very limited; the text relies on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'so' rather than sophisticated linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast'). The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly. Improving the use of transition signals and organizing the essay into a standard four-paragraph structure would significantly enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'good thing', 'bad thing', and 'face many problems' are used frequently. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'home mate' instead of 'housemate' or 'roommate', and 'the save money' instead of 'savings'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to housing, finance, and social issues, and avoid repeating simple adjectives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'he have to', 'the person who live'), article usage (e.g., 'on earth', 'in a months'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, lacking proper punctuation. While there is an attempt to use complex ideas, the grammatical control is weak. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex structures.
