In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Renting home or buying home, is one of the most essential topic within everyone's life. Many people shows an interest in buying home, by spending their all assets, while others prefers to rent an apartment.
Every individual suffering from their own life's chaos. In my point of view, regardless of being biased, there are different opinions present having their owns pros and cons.
Come up with the idea of buying homes, in some countries people wanted to purchase house or apartments for themselves, by utilizing all of their wealth. They believe that, investments on homes gives them a profit in return, which will double in the amount that was spent. Individual wants one time investment then will take advantage of their resident place for their whole life. The do not want to pay rents monthly, do not wanted to take stress about giving a large portion of money for their rented house. They used that money in building something more valuable for their family and coming generations.
On the other side, instead of shopping apartment, some person rented an apartment because they have limited resources for the survival for their life. Then they find the place where facilities are easily accessible. They try to spend their money over their children to get education. They give them a chance to get rid from dailt life struggling.
In conclusion, both of the opinions are right in their owns ways, people who are wealthy trying to secure their future by buying home o=and other sort of asset, while middle class people , try to mange their regular mess of life and ambitious to bring out their family from life chaos.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why home ownership is important and whether it is a positive or negative situation. However, the development is limited. The reasons for home ownership (investment, security) are mentioned but not fully explored. The discussion on renting is somewhat vague, focusing on 'limited resources' rather than the flexibility or lifestyle benefits of renting. The position is present but lacks depth, and the conclusion is a bit repetitive. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or logical chains of reasoning to support your arguments, ensuring that the 'positive or negative' aspect is clearly articulated with a stronger, more consistent stance throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between ideas is often mechanical. Transitions like 'Come up with the idea of' and 'On the other side' are used, but they feel unnatural. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'the do not want to pay rents', where the subject is ambiguous. The logical progression within paragraphs is hindered by awkward phrasing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring clear pronoun references would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'regular mess of life' and 'dailt life struggling'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'shopping apartment' instead of 'renting an apartment'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of range and the frequent errors in word choice prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the naturalness of your expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Many people shows', 'others prefers'), incorrect verb tenses ('do not wanted to take stress'), and punctuation errors. The sentence construction is often clunky, which affects the overall clarity. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors is high. You should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage before attempting more complex structures, as accuracy is currently the primary barrier to a higher score.
