In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many parts of the world, buying a house is seen a major life goal compared to living in a rented property. This preference mainly stems from a desire for financial security and personal independence. In my view, while homeownership can put financial pressure on individuals can only relate this. It is the positive trend.
On the one hand, there are two main reason that why buying your own house is important. I prefer that buying your own house is the important because buying a property is the best way to safe your money. When people pay rent there money is gone forever. But when they buy a house, the value of the house is usually goes up over time. Which build wealth second, buying your own house gives you a complete freedom and stability. House owner does not need to worry about landlords. Raising the rent for asking them to leave.
One the other hand. I believe that it is the positive trend buying your own house bring a mental peace. when they grew old for society the they take care of then they have their own house.
In conclusion, people buying to home of there own because it provide safety and bring peace and harmony among them overall it is the positive way to save

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing reasons for homeownership and expressing a clear opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. The ideas are presented but remain underdeveloped; for instance, the point about 'mental peace' is vague and lacks sufficient explanation or supporting examples. Because the response is 33 words short, the development of ideas is restricted, preventing a higher score. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples or logical consequences to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While there are attempts at cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion', the internal structure of sentences is often disjointed. For example, the transition 'Which build wealth second' is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the ideas within the paragraphs are not always clearly linked, making the progression of the argument feel mechanical and sometimes difficult to follow. More attention to sentence-level cohesion is needed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms such as 'good', 'important', and 'money'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'safe your money' (instead of 'save') and 'buying to home' (instead of 'buying a home'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to finance and housing, such as 'property investment', 'financial security', or 'long-term asset', and ensure you use them accurately in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the value of the house is usually goes up'), sentence fragments ('Raising the rent for asking them to leave'), and incorrect word forms ('buying to home'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some errors in complex constructions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence boundaries. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb tense consistency.
