Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, discussing reasons for home ownership such as inflation and stability, as well as giving an opinion on whether it is a positive or negative situation. However, the ideas are under-developed and lack extension. Furthermore, the length requirement has NOT been met, as the response contains only 235 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This results in a penalty under Task Achievement. The position is discernible in the conclusion, but the lack of sufficient elaboration prevents the response from achieving a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The essay attempts a paragraph structure, but the progression is disjointed. For example, sentences are awkwardly fragmented, such as ending a paragraph with 'Whereas' and continuing in the next, which disrupts logical flow. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'In Conclusin, i would like to add cup'). Paragraphing is poorly executed, with several single-sentence paragraphs that fail to develop a coherent central idea. Overall, the organizational structure is weak and hinders the reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and heavily impacted by numerous word-choice and spelling errors. Examples include 'awarred' instead of aware, 'Exten' instead of extent, and 'Conclusin' instead of conclusion. While the writer attempts some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'inflation', 'mortgage', and 'stability', the inaccurate collocations and frequent spelling mistakes restrict communication and prevent the vocabulary from reaching a higher band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay. The text contains persistent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and capitalization (e.g., lowercase 'i', incomplete sentences like 'Whereas'). Complex sentence attempts are frequently faulty and obscure meaning, such as in the opening sentence: 'There is a trend going in many countries of being a home owner rather then renting out a place which have both positive and negative impacts which are discussed in below paragraphs.' Error frequency is high, limiting the writer mostly to flawed simple and basic complex structures.
