Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The student attempts to address both parts of the prompt, discussing why homeownership is valued (financial investment and security) and touching upon whether it is a positive or negative situation (mentioning inflation and high costs). However, the response is severely underdeveloped and significantly under the word count, reaching only 178 words against the 250-word minimum. This failure to meet the length requirement caps the task achievement score. Furthermore, ideas are repetitive and lack deep elaboration. Phrases like 'Prices for having own house are so much high like they are touching the skies' illustrate simplistic and insufficient development, warranting a Band 4.0 for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into three brief paragraphs, attempting a traditional structure with an introduction and two body paragraphs (though no clear conclusion is present). There is some basic sequencing of ideas using transitional phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, referencing is frequently faulty and repetitive, such as 'having own house' and 'a person who have its own home he can rent it'. The logical progression is hindered by choppy sentences and poor transitional links between sentences. Paragraphing is weak due to the lack of a proper conclusion. This reflects the descriptors for Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily restricted. The student repeatedly relies on fundamental terms such as 'house', 'home', and 'rent'. There are noticeable word choice errors and unnatural collocations, such as 'Prices for having own house are so much high' and 'difficult to but or construct'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'investment', 'utilize', and 'inflation', the frequent lexical inaccuracies and limited range place this response firmly in the Band 5.0 category, as the vocabulary is barely adequate for the task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or poorly constructed compound sentences, and attempts at complex structures are frequently flawed by grammatical errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement and pronoun usage, exemplified by 'a person who have its own home he can rent it' and 'there is no any blessing'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Due to the high frequency of errors and the limited structural range that causes some difficulty for the reader, this merits a Band 4.0.
