Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing why homeownership is important and whether it is a positive or negative situation. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the writer mentions that homeowners can 'lent them for rent and earn money', but this idea is poorly developed and somewhat contradictory to living in the home. The position is discernible but lacks clear, well-extended arguments. The discussion tends to generalise without providing substantial elaboration. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 5, as the ideas remain under-developed and the task is only partially satisfied with simplistic reasoning throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text demonstrates a basic level of organisation with attempts at paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or repetitive. For instance, the transition between ideas relies heavily on simple pronouns and repetitive sentence openings like 'They' and 'A person can'. Paragraphing is erratic, with several very short, disconnected paragraphs that fail to structure the argument effectively. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun usage in 'They lent them for rent'. Overall, the coherence and cohesion of the response fall into the Band 4 to Band 5 range, fitting best at Band 4 due to the lack of clear logical sequencing and flawed mechanical cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'home', 'money', 'problem', and 'life'. There are noticeable word-choice errors and incorrect collocations, such as 'leaving cost' instead of living costs, 'took the the burden' instead of bear the burden, and 'spenting meaningful life' instead of spending a meaningful life. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic meaning, but frequent lexical errors and spelling mistakes (e.g., 'facilites', 'hisitation', 'actrivites', 'hardle', 'burdwen', 'buit') cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences predominate, and attempts at more complex structures are consistently faulty, such as 'In my opinion who man able to built his home he built his home and a man who is not able to buit jhis home he cannot built it.' Errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and word form are frequent throughout the text (e.g., 'if they had their own home they live', 'He get heavy loans', 'develop home is not a easy task'). These frequent grammatical errors distort meaning and make the text difficult to follow at times, fully supporting a Band 4 rating.
