Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing reasons why home ownership is important and offering an opinion on whether this is a positive or negative situation. The student's position is clear in the introduction and conclusion, stating that owning a home is a positive situation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and lacks depth. For example, while the writer mentions flexibility and investment as reasons, the explanations remain relatively brief and rely on simple examples such as 'Many investors and businessmen are investing in house property.' The essay covers the task adequately, but the arguments would benefit from greater extension and deeper elaboration to achieve a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a logical overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate renting from owning. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Howover,' and 'Thus, this essay will discussing' contain errors in spelling and grammar that disrupt the flow. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Nowadays, people live on home by renting them,' where pronoun and preposition choices weaken the cohesive ties between sentences. Overall, the organization is coherent, but the execution of cohesive devices requires better control.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic ideas about housing, renting, and investing. However, the range is limited and repetition occurs, such as frequent use of 'home,' 'house,' and 'renting.' There are noticeable lexical and collocational errors throughout the text, including 'live on home by renting them,' 'are not settle,' and 'rent home.' Words like 'benificial' and 'prefrence' also show spelling inaccuracies. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to the Band 5.5 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct longer sentences, such as 'Many people owns their home in the country while, some prefer to live in a rent home to save more money for other things.' However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the response. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, including 'people owns,' 'essay will discussing,' 'can limit individual,' and 'it a positive situation.' Punctuation and spelling errors also occur regularly. These persistent mistakes constrain the grammatical score.
