In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, there has been considerable debate surrounding owing a property is crucial than renting. It is widely acknowledge that holding a home is positive in both ways. A sustainable proportion of people think that owing is a positive development as well as good investment for future. In my view, Owing a home is beneficial and has positive effects than renting on it. This essay will examine this perspective by considering the key arguments from various angle.

One of the most compelling arguments in favour of home is that it offers a good gesture and individuals should not have any stress of their houses. Furthermore, the infulence of owing a property extends beyond the individual level, with wider implications for society as a whole. For instance, holding a property can get rid of monthly rent and other charges. Therefore, this advantage can have far-reaching positive effects on both individuals and society. The major advantage, of holding a house is that it can helps their childrens for their future and use by thier childs.

Nevertheless, there are certain limitations associated with renting a house that should be taken into one particular significant drawback is that indivduals has already burden of other charged like bills and many others so managing all these things can be very though.

In conclusion, although holder of house in some countries are important for peoples has certain advantages, I believe that its positive effects are more substantial. Ultimately, it is imperative that families and individuals work collabratively to ensure that issue of renting property. Working together and make savings for becoming a holder of house can have a sustainable balance in the future for both indivuduals as well as for their families.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student addresses both parts of the prompt by explaining why home ownership is important and offering an opinion on whether this trend is positive or negative. A position is presented throughout the essay, stating that home ownership is largely beneficial. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times repetitive. For instance, the argument that owning a home 'offers a good gesture and individuals should not have any stress' is vague and under-developed. While the response touches on financial stability and future security for children, these points lack specific elaboration and clear support. Consequently, the task achievement aligns best with Band 5.0, as ideas are limited and lack deep extension.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some general organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and confusing transitions. For example, sentences such as 'Nevertheless, there are certain limitations associated with renting a house that should be taken into one particular significant drawback is that indivduals has already burden...' demonstrate faulty grammatical linking and abrupt shifts in thought. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs often feels mechanical or inadequate. Referencing pronouns such as 'its' and 'this' occasionally lacks clear antecedents, making the overall flow bumpy and difficult to follow. This level of coherence fits a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text. Examples include 'owing' instead of 'owning', 'acknowledge' instead of 'acknowledged', 'infulence' instead of 'influence', and 'collabratively' instead of 'collaboratively'. The student attempts less common phrases such as 'far-reaching positive effects', but these are often undermined by collocation errors and imprecise usage, such as 'holding a home' rather than 'owning a home'. The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, but frequent inaccuracies place this response firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and attempted complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in verb forms, article usage, subject-verb agreement, and sentence completeness. For instance, 'In recent years, there has been considerable debate surrounding owing a property is crucial than renting' contains a faulty complement clause, and 'indivduals has already burden of other charged' contains multiple grammatical errors. Punctuation is also erratic in places, creating run-on constructions or fragmented thoughts. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in grasping the precise meaning, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
