Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding why homeownership is important and whether this situation is positive or negative. The writer presents a clear position, stating that owning a home is a positive situation that provides financial security, societal status, and peace of mind compared to renting. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the points about gaining respect, avoiding monthly rent stress, and having a future asset for children are mentioned multiple times across different paragraphs without deep extension or varied argumentation. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the support lacks specific depth, placing this response at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing basic paragraphing structure. However, the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, repetitive phrasing, and mechanical cohesive devices like 'In contrast' and 'Furthermore,' which are sometimes used illogically. For example, the sentence 'In contrast, individuals those are on renting houses doesn't have any solutions' poorly connects back to the previous idea. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun shifts and confusing phrasing in 'In future when we need some money we can sell this property to reslove our issue.' These organizational and referencing flaws result in a Band 5.0 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent word-formation and collocation errors that hinder precision. Examples include 'owning a house is demand as crucial thing,' 'life saving thing,' and 'property holder.' The writer attempts some less common terms like 'financial status' and 'investment,' but errors such as 'reslove' (spelling), 'tone of respect,' and 'rental houses' instead of rented houses are noticeable. Although the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general message, the strain caused by inaccurate word choices and frequent errors restricts the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and flawed attempts at complex constructions. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('individuals those are on renting houses doesn't'), prepositional errors ('involving in owning'), and awkward clause structures ('While it totally depend upon finances, traditional or culture'). Punctuation is also problematic, marked by unnecessary commas breaking up basic sentence patterns. Because errors are frequent, cause difficulty for the reader, and impede comprehension in places, the performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
