Student answer (Band 5.0)

In some parts of the world, owning a house than renting is essential for individual. It is topic of concern in today's emerging population owing to decrease in housing socities. In this essay, I ill rerveal why there is need for purchasing own house instead of renting it. I strongly agree to the point of getting own home for living.

In most developed countries, after retirement people aiming to buy a house which gives them peace and safety in spite of renting a home monthly which looks economicaly exorbitant. For an istance if a person living in a rented house, his security or privacy may be compromised while sharing appartment with other companions and colleagues.

On the other hand, there will be no safety rules applied for tenant and he will be find guilty if any damage to house will occur. The house owner have the authority to fine him for damage or he can pose a court allegations on him.

In this emerging world, there will be scarcity of food and living places. So, people prefer at least have a house to live in and secure their family.

In conclusion, i agree to the individual who is aiming to own their home because it provide not only complete safety and insurance but privacy and stability also.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing why homeownership is valued and giving a personal view, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, coming in at only 217 words. Furthermore, the second part of the prompt regarding whether this is a positive or negative situation is only cursorily and implicitly addressed rather than fully explored. The position is stated, but the ideas remain underdeveloped and lack sufficient extension. Phrases like 'I ill rerveal why there is need' show basic task framing, but the overall development falls into Band 5 territory due to the restricted length and under-developed arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay attempts a traditional structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly executed, with some paragraphs awkwardly merged or starting without clear indentation logic. Cohesive devices are minimal or misused, such as 'For an istance if a person living...' and 'On the other hand' used without a clear contrast to a previous point. Progression is disjointed, and the relationships between ideas are sometimes obscure. Pronoun referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as shifting between plural and singular nouns for tenants and owners. Overall, the organizational structure reflects a Band 5 level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'socities' instead of societies, 'rerveal' instead of reveal, 'economicaly' instead of economically, and 'istance' instead of instance. The student attempts some less common vocabulary like 'exorbitant' and 'scarcity', but these are often combined with awkward collocations or grammatical errors, such as 'pose a court allegations'. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, but frequent inaccuracies place it squarely at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures frequently contain serious errors, such as 'owning a house than renting is essential for individual' and 'people prefer at least have a house'. There are numerous agreement errors, missing articles, and awkward verb tenses (e.g., 'people aiming to buy', 'he will be find guilty'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are occasionally mishandled. Because frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and complex structures are largely unmanaged or inaccurate, this meets the criteria for Band 5.
