In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

Student answer (Band 4.5)

Nowadays, In some countries buying their own home rather than paying rent every month. In this essay i will discuss i positive effect of buying a home and give me own opinion about its advantage.

Some people believe that owining a home is batter than paying rent it can save their asset. This is evident from the fact fats when a person buy a home its can save their money as a asset and it use for social life. For instance, many well wealth people save their money as buying a bid house. Another reason why the people hold this believe its can get benift in future, in future they childtren used their home for living which is link of strong memories, emotion such as excitement, nervousness and happy moments that occur in their life.

One of significant reson, i think owing a home is benifit in their life, and spend those money on education of their children, because they not pay rent in each month, In this way they save money for their emegecies such as when they ill, any accident occue in road with him they spend those money at this time. Another compelling reason i hold this belief, owner of house dont able to leave their home in saying of other, he lives independed life, when they want to live their they live without any restric.

In conclusion, owining a home is much better than paying rent in every month beacuse, in this way they safe their assets and get benift in future. aditionally it can give benift to expend their month income in better way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, exploring reasons why homeownership is important and giving an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. The student attempts to present ideas regarding financial security, asset building, and emotional connection to a home, as seen in phrases like 'save their money as a asset' and 'future they childtren used their home for living'. However, the development of these ideas is frequently limited and unclear due to severe expression issues. The position is discernible—that homeownership is largely positive for savings and independence—but the supporting arguments lack extension and clarity. Consequently, the performance aligns best with Band 5, as the task is addressed only partially with under-developed and limited ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response attempts a traditional essay structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, using some basic cohesive devices such as 'For instance', 'Another reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing is poorly managed, with the second and third body paragraphs merging multiple distinct ideas without smooth transitions. Overall progression is frequently obscured by repetitive phrasing and a lack of clear logical links between sentences. Referencing is also problematic, as pronouns often lack clear antecedents, such as in 'when a person buy a home its can save their money'. These issues restrict the text to Band 4, as information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to maintain a clear logical flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, featuring frequent word-choice errors and incorrect derivations, such as 'owining' instead of owning, 'batter' instead of better, 'benift' instead of benefit, and 'emegecies' instead of emergencies. There is an attempt to use less common vocabulary, but inaccurate collocations and incorrect forms ('well wealth people', 'bid house', 'independed life') impede understanding in several places. Spelling errors are widespread. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a rudimentary topic, the density of errors places the lexical performance firmly at Band 4, as errors frequently strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and heavily flawed complex sentence attempts. There is a persistent lack of basic grammatical control, including frequent subject-verb agreement errors ('owner of house dont able', 'they childtren used'), missing articles, incorrect tense usage, and run-on sentences with comma splices ('In this essay i will discuss i positive effect...', '...they not pay rent in each month, In this way they save money...'). Error-free sentences are very rare, and the high frequency of grammatical mistakes constantly disrupts comprehension, matching the descriptors for Band 4.
