Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent , owing house is good investment. Renting a home have less benefit. Personally i believe purchasing a house will gives lots of return such as it will helpful as a financially.

To begin with, living in a personal apartment gives tremendous vides their is no burden to pay a rent. Furthermore, if someone who lives in own house if they want to customizes their home or wants to rebuild after 10 to 15 years so they can do. Nowadays, some people does not have much money so they can buy a home still they asked bank to agree the lone than they purchase their house because it will gives phenomenal returns. Moreover, living in personal home have different vide and we can live with comfort.

On the other hand, renting an apartment or house have less benefit because we can not customize it and if we broke something like furniture so we need to pay the cost. Apart from it, their is certain territory like we can not customizes things and can not move any thing from it place. Moreover, lots bills are also included in rent like electricity bill, gas bill and etc. Due to that person who rent a house they have to pay extra money and overall they pay a hug rent. That kind to things which destroy as a financially.

To conclude that, people prefer to buy own house because rental apartment have too much high rent and rental apartment have not much aspects. Buying own house will comfortable and for economical growth and to update as a financially buying property is really profitable thing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing why homeownership is valued and giving a clear personal opinion that it is a positive situation. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. For instance, the reasons provided for why owning a home is important—such as financial returns and customisation—are introduced but only partially developed, relying on general statements like 'it will gives phenomenal returns' without specific elaboration or strong supporting evidence. Similarly, the counterpoints regarding renting lack depth. The writer states that renting has fewer benefits and includes various bills, but these points remain somewhat surface-level. To move to a higher band, the ideas need to be fully extended and supported with clearer reasoning and more detailed examples related to the socio-economic factors influencing housing choices.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some basic organisation, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different aspects of the prompt, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are often used inaccurately or repetitively, such as the frequent reliance on 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Apart from it'. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the line of argument. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion suffers from abrupt shifts in ideas, such as mixing bank loans, customisation, and emotional comfort all within the same paragraph. To improve in this area, the writer needs to ensure a smoother logical transition between ideas and use a wider, more accurate variety of cohesive devices to guide the reader through the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. There is a noticeable lack of precision, and the frequent lexical and spelling errors cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples of word choice and word form errors include 'owing house' instead of 'owning a house', 'financially' used as a noun instead of 'financial terms', and repeated spelling and collocation issues such as 'vides' instead of 'vibes' or 'views', 'lone' instead of 'loan', and 'hug rent' instead of 'huge rent'. The range of vocabulary is restricted, and attempts to use less common items result in awkward phrasing that impedes communication. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, learn the correct word forms and spellings, and use lexical items with greater precision and awareness of natural collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic patterns with frequent errors. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, leading to structural confusion, such as in the sentence 'Furthermore, if someone who lives in own house if they want to customizes their home or wants to rebuild after 10 to 15 years so they can do.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and articles throughout the text, such as 'Renting a home have less benefit', 'some people does not have', and 'rental apartment have too much high rent'. Punctuation is also inconsistently managed. These frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence forms with good control, reducing basic structural mistakes and ensuring accurate subject-verb agreement and tense usage.
