Student answer (Band 5.5)

In some nation, having a own house is more vital as compare to renting one. According to my perspectives this is a positive situation because having own house is mean you have a long-term assets without any sort of pressure regarding to pay rent.

On the one hand, the most important benefit of own land is, you can design your house according to your consent. For example, people want spacious house which have a garden, living rooms, library and rooms which have attached washrooms, whereas the rental house no these kinds of facilities. Also, individuals can be decorated their homes by using aesthetics trends, in contrast in flats you must follow the owners rules and regulations. Additionally, person can save their money because he has no any stress regarding to pay rent, he will use this in future for some other purpose.

Furthermore, person have no restrictions regarding any events arrangements in their own accommodations, although in lease apartments you should get permission from the neighbors and building owners. Some other advantages include no pressure of rent expense, having a worthful property which value increase day by day. Moreover, men can buy some new property and easily manage other expense related to daily life. For instance, the leasing land individual have a lot of stress to manage monthly expense which includes rent, electricity, gas and internet bills, so he has no enough money to do something more for better life style. In addition, having a own home people can easily get economic growth while investing some money into any market to generate more income.

All in all, always the own land is play vital for further growth and progress as compared to renting one. Also protect from anxiety, depression and other societal pressures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing why homeownership is important and giving a clear opinion that this is a positive situation. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, which keeps the task achievement at this level. While the writer attempts to explain the benefits, such as freedom of design and financial savings, the arguments tend to repeat similar points rather than extending them with deep analysis or varied examples. For instance, the advantage of avoiding rent pressure is mentioned multiple times across different paragraphs. To move towards a higher band, the writer needs to fully extend their ideas with more detailed explanations and distinct supporting points for both parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic logical progression in the essay, with an introduction, body paragraphs discussing reasons and opinions, and a brief conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on transitional phrases like 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'In addition'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs often lacks smooth transitions, making the flow somewhat disjointed. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use like 'he' when referring generally to a person or individuals. Achieving a higher band requires using a wider range of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensuring that ideas flow logically from one sentence to the next without abrupt shifts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for addressing the topic, attempting some less common words such as 'aesthetics trends' and 'economic growth'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, collocation, and word form throughout the text, such as 'having a own house' instead of 'owning a home', 'own land' instead of 'property', and 'worthful' instead of 'valuable'. Additionally, there are awkward phrasings like 'consent' instead of 'taste' or 'preference'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher score. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding their range of natural collocations and accurately controlling word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in basic grammar, including article omission, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'In some nation', 'having a own house is mean', and 'regarding to pay rent'. Furthermore, verb forms and tense consistency are problematic, seen in expressions like 'individuals can be decorated' and 'the leasing land individual have'. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, which can cause difficulty for the reader. To reach the next band, the writer must demonstrate better control over complex sentence structures and significantly reduce the frequency of basic grammatical mistakes.
