Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally, which is reflected in the low score for this criterion. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met: the student has written only 177 words, falling well short of the 250-word minimum, with 8 words copied directly from the prompt. While the writer attempts to address both parts of the prompt—explaining why owning a home is important and briefly stating a position that it is an advantage—the ideas are extremely limited and under-developed. Sentences such as 'The home is very important for living' and 'one the major benefit paying rent every month is waste if money' repeat the same basic point without extension or deep exploration.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The arrangement of information and ideas lacks overall coherence. Paragraphing is extremely weak and inappropriate; the entire response consists of a single chaotic block of text that ends abruptly mid-sentence ('To conclude peoples are prefer to own house then live with own family wit'). Transitional markers are largely absent or misused, such as 'the first onw reason give a sense of security and stability', and referencing is often unclear. There is no clear logical progression throughout the essay, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments from one point to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently straining the reader's understanding. The student relies heavily on simple words and basic phrasing, such as 'big home', 'living in rent home', and 'very hard'. There are numerous lexical and spelling errors that stem from poor word choice and form, including 'peoples' instead of 'people', 'owing' instead of 'owning', and 'mor advantages' instead of 'more advantageous'. While the writer attempts to use terms related to housing like 'loan' and 'owner', the frequent inaccuracies in collocation and word choice severely limit the range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and heavily flawed sentence structures. Errors are frequent throughout the text and often distort meaning. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('peoples prefer', 'there is many reasons', 'peoples does not buy'), incorrect verb forms ('peoples are prefer', 'does not pay'), missing articles ('is waste if money'), and prepositions. Punctuation is largely neglected, with run-on sentences and a failure to capitalize the beginnings of sentences or use periods correctly. These frequent structural errors cause constant difficulty for the reader.
