Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people argue that own home is very crucial for every individual instead of renting house. I widely agree this is a positive ssituation for every people.

Own residence generate various benefits like safety. Own apartment is seems like a safe point where every family lives without any hesitation, although in rented houses owner can provide a notification any time to leave the dwelling. Furthermore, in own shelter is free of cobitatsst citizens not paid any rent which helpful for manage the expenditures of the people. Although, tenants pay rents every month that why public can't stable their household expenses. For example, in Karachi many citizens stay in rented small blocks, because they can't afford own houses.

In own habitat human can installed every thing like, solar power and other kitchen equipments, whereas they will not do anything in renter home. Solar panels is the main thing they can't easily transfer into other place, so this is the main problem in rented residence, moreover other obstacle is that tenants could not decor their habitats, because it will not stay permanently. For instance, in china they decor their dwelling with different painting and sea shells.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing why homeownership is important and giving a clear position that it is a positive situation. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear, reflecting the requirements of this band level. For example, while the writer mentions safety and financial stability as reasons for owning a home, points like the ability to install solar power or interior decorations are underdeveloped and lack strong elaboration. The arguments tend to be repetitive and rely on general statements rather than fully extended supporting details. To move further up, the writer needs to ensure all parts of the prompt are explored with deeper explanations, more comprehensive examples, and a more fully realised line of argument throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organisation, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but it lacks a clear overall progression from start to finish. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is often inaccurate or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'although', 'furthermore', and 'moreover' to link clauses where they do not logically fit. Additionally, referencing and pronoun use can be confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of ideas seamlessly. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition words, ensuring every paragraph has a single clear central topic, and building smoother bridges between sentences will significantly enhance the overall structural flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'habitat', 'dwelling', and 'expenditures', but these are often used with incorrect collocation or word forms, like 'own shelter is free of cobitatsst' and 'tenants could not decor their habitats'. Furthermore, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the essay, including 'ssituation', 'cobitatsst', and 'goverment'. To improve in this area, the writer needs to expand their range of vocabulary, pay closer attention to word formation and spelling, and ensure that words are chosen precisely to fit the intended context rather than relying on repetitive or inaccurate terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures used are rather limited, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, articles, plurals, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'Some people argue that own home is very crucial', 'citizens not paid any rent', and 'in own habitat human can installed'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning in several places. To achieve a higher band, the writer must demonstrate better control over basic sentence structures, improve subject-verb agreement, use articles and prepositions more accurately, and reduce the frequency of grammatical errors across both simple and complex sentence forms.
