Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify financial security and personal freedom as reasons for home ownership, then mention inheritance and social status as benefits and difficulty moving and financial pressure as drawbacks. These points are relevant, but the response only partially answers the task: the reasons are briefly stated, and you do not clearly decide whether this situation is positive or negative overall. The introduction promises to discuss “pros and cons” rather than directly answering the question, and the conclusion is missing, leaving your position unresolved. The response also contains 232 words, below the required 250, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or example, and state your overall view explicitly. The final sentence is unfinished, further limiting the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: the response moves from an introduction to reasons, advantages and disadvantages, and uses signposts such as “Besides this,” “On the positive side” and “On the darker side.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the intended structure. However, progression is uneven because the introduction refers to “pros and cons” without setting out a clear position, and the final paragraph ends mid-sentence. Some links are mechanical or awkward, such as “As ‘Every action has reaction’, similarly,” while “Besides this, personal freedom” is a fragment rather than a complete connected idea. Paragraphing is attempted, but ideas within paragraphs need clearer sequencing and fuller links. Use a direct thesis, connect each supporting point to it, and finish with a concise conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “financial security,” “longterm investment,” “personal freedom,” “passed down to children” and “financial burden.” These choices show an attempt to discuss ownership from several angles. However, the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form and collocation are noticeable, sometimes making the meaning less clear: “inflamation,” “increses,” “costumization,” “statues” and “upcommimg” appear in the response. Phrases such as “a house is a main symbole of society status” are also imprecise. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for property value, inheritance and the costs of ownership would help you express the ideas more clearly without relying on repeated general words such as “house” and “people.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer structures, for example “people can do any costumization on their house without taking anyone permission” and “A paid off house can be passed down to children.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “people used to live apart from family for their study and jobs,” “owning a home make it difficult to move,” and “owning a home cost very high,” where verb forms and sentence construction are not controlled. There are also fragments, including “Besides this, personal freedom,” and inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and use a mix of simple and subordinate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject, verb and complete thought.
