Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you suggest reasons for home ownership, including financial security, freedom to decorate, retirement security, and cultural status, and you clearly describe it as positive. These points are relevant, and the example about saving money gives some support. However, several ideas are asserted rather than explained—for instance, the claim that owning a home gives confidence to speak in public is not clearly connected to ownership. The discussion of cultural respect and benefits to future generations could also be developed with a clearer explanation or example. To strengthen the response, explain the causes behind the importance of ownership and weigh its benefits more fully, perhaps acknowledging a possible drawback before reaffirming your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable overall structure: it introduces the topic, presents reasons in two main sections, and ends with a conclusion that restates your positive view. Sequencing words such as “Secondly,” “in addition,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between points. However, the body paragraphs are not clearly separated, and many different ideas are crowded into long sentences, making the progression difficult to follow. Some links are mechanical or unclear, such as the repeated use of “in addition” and the shift from retirement to cultural status and neighbourhood relationships. Use one paragraph for each main reason, develop each point in a logical order, and use clearer referencing and sentence boundaries.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “financial burden,” “security,” “stability,” “investment,” and “permanent residency,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated phrases such as “having own home” and “prosperity,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “speak in public about his own property” and “learning” where the context appears to mean renting. Spelling errors such as “finaincal,” “invesments,” and “retirment” also reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of housing-related expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your ideas easier to understand and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, showing some variety in structure. The main message is generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and basic grammar recur. For example, “having own home give a person” needs an article and subject–verb agreement, while “people also want to own a home before retirment because they do not have to pay rents” contains problems with articles and plural use. Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, particularly the section beginning “Secondly, have own home gives a person security.” Practise building accurate sentences with articles, agreement, and clear clause boundaries, then use a few controlled complex structures to connect explanations and examples.
