Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest reasons for home ownership, including comfort, financial security and social status, and you give a clear overall view that it is beneficial. You also acknowledge disadvantages, such as debt and reduced flexibility for people who move for work. However, the position is only briefly supported, and several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that owning a home creates mental stability needs a clearer link or example. The response is 61 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason and weigh the benefits against the drawbacks more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about benefits, a paragraph that introduces stability and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links feel mechanical. For instance, “Then house is also help in mentally stable” does not clearly connect to the preceding investment point, while “There are multiple reasons for individuals family house” is difficult to follow. The conclusion repeats the main ideas without drawing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, group related points, and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “rent,” “invest,” “financial,” “status,” “loan,” and “stable,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express less basic ideas, such as “long-term investment” and “financial benefits.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning unclear: “financial independent,” “capacity of invest money,” and “house is the good way to invest money” are examples. Spelling errors such as “hose” for “house” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for housing and finance, and check word forms and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast with “However” and a reason introduced by “because.” Nevertheless, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently across the response, sometimes making sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “There are several reason,” “we can feel comfortable and safe in own house,” and “house is also help in mentally stable,” which show problems with agreement, articles, and verb forms. The sentence “which give financial independent in future” also has errors in the relative clause and word form. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, especially subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
