Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both parts of the question by giving possible reasons for owning or renting and stating that you prefer owning a home in Pakistan. Examples such as living with family, studying abroad, and a businessperson staying in another country are relevant. However, the reasons are not consistently explained, and the discussion shifts between general situations and your personal circumstances without clearly answering why home ownership is especially important in some countries. The prompt also asks whether this is a positive or negative situation; your preference is clear, but you do not directly evaluate the wider situation or explain its effects. Develop a clear overall position and support it with a few focused explanations and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic overall sequence: you introduce different preferences, give examples, and finish with your own view. The conclusion also returns to the idea of owning a home. However, most of the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the separate reasons and examples are difficult to follow. Connections between ideas are often unclear, and repeated use of “then” and “because” makes the progression feel mechanical. For example, the discussion moves from education abroad to business travel without a clear transition. Use distinct paragraphs for the introduction, reasons, evaluation, and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main point with clear links between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “owning,” “renting,” “higher education,” “funds,” and “apartment,” so the reader can identify the main subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “prefer,” “house,” and “funds.” Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices, such as “prefar,” “bussnius man,” and “shourch room,” make parts of the response difficult to understand. Some expressions are also unnatural, including “bought own house” and “own house is good the their life style.” Build a more accurate range of housing-related vocabulary and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because” and “then,” and you use some simple sentence forms to communicate your main points. However, sentence structures are mostly basic, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently. For example, “Home are the very important part” has problems with agreement and article use, while “Some time people go to abroad … then he prefer” contains errors in the verb form and pronoun reference. Several sentences run together, making relationships between clauses unclear. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, consistent pronouns, articles, and full stops.
