IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?
Student answer (Band 4.5)
In some states honouring a house rather than renting one is very singnificant for people. I think in well settled countires most of people want to perefer buying new home because they have large amout money that they can buy it new house. I partially agreed this statement because there are severals reasons.
Firstly, In my country most of individuals want to select buying new houses or owned their houses. Because in my country our government does not provide lots of facilities and they cannot relive in any situation. Another reason is people did not pay high rent. For example, in some countires people are job less every seconds people involve different types wrong activities like robbering. In my country, pepole can sale everywhere for their children and build and want to get owned houses because they did not pay high rent. Lastly, last year in Punjab government survey and the survey report expalin 60 percent people living in rented houses.
Secondly, there are some benefits of living rented houses or hostels like if a student need to live in another city to improve their studies then they perefer to live in rented houses or hostels because they are beneficial for students. Specially immigriant workers live in rented houses last week i watched they dawn news they explain in Dubai 80 percent poeple lived in rented apartments because in Dubai most of overseas live in. Lastly, if rented houses are not available in countries they affect on economy because travellers where they live.
In conclusion, this essay provide both positive and negative aspects because there are lots of benefits and negative developments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to address both questions: you suggest that people buy homes because renting is costly or insecure, and you mention situations in which renting is useful for students and migrant workers. However, the reasons are not consistently explained, and some examples are difficult to connect to the question. For instance, the discussion of robbery and the Punjab survey does not clearly show why home ownership matters or whether it is positive. Your position is also unclear: “I partially agreed” is not followed by a clear judgement, and the conclusion merely says there are positive and negative aspects. State your view directly and develop a small number of relevant reasons with clear explanations and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” signal the broad stages of the essay. This gives the reader some basic structure. However, ideas within paragraphs do not progress clearly: the first body paragraph moves from government facilities to rent, crime, children and a survey without explaining their connections. The second combines students, overseas workers, a news report and the economy, again with unclear links. Some references, such as “they” and “they affect on economy,” are difficult to identify. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it; use linking phrases only where they show a genuine relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “rent,” “owned houses,” “rented apartments,” “immigrant workers” and “economy.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both ownership and renting. However, the range is basic and repeated, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “honouring a house” for owning a home, “relive” where you appear to mean “rely,” and “robbering.” Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “people can sale everywhere for their children.” Build a more accurate set of topic expressions and check spelling and collocations; precise wording will make your reasons and examples much easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” but control is limited and errors are frequent enough to obscure some relationships. For example, “I partially agreed this statement” lacks a suitable grammatical construction, while “people did not pay high rent” shifts tense without a clear reason. In “if a student need to live,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “if rented houses are not available in countries they affect on economy” has an unclear clause structure. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly where a full stop follows “Because.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check tense, agreement, articles and punctuation.
