Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify a relevant reason for home ownership—financial security—and state a clear view that it is positive. The point about rising living costs and rent is also connected to the question. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain the reasons in enough detail, and the positive judgement is not supported with a developed argument or examples. The discussion also stops mid-sentence at “The salleries are very low according to,” leaving the final idea incomplete. The required minimum length is not met, which substantially limits how fully you can address both parts. Develop at least one reason with a clear explanation, then support your opinion with consequences or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic overall shape: an introduction gives your position, followed by a paragraph beginning “To begin” that introduces a reason. This helps the reader recognise the direction of the response. However, the progression is very limited because the essay ends before the point is completed, and there is no concluding paragraph to bring the argument together. The link between rising living costs and the claim that a middle-class person cannot afford rent also needs clearer explanation. Use a complete paragraph structure, with each paragraph developing one main idea, and add a conclusion that restates your view. Cohesive phrases can help, but they should connect fully explained ideas rather than substitute for development.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “owning a home,” “renting,” “rising cost of living,” and “middle class,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited in this short response, and several spelling errors reduce accuracy: “benificial,” “infl uations” (written as “influations”), “expences,” and “salleries.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “pay rent of his home” and “rising influations.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations, for example “pay rent on a home” and “rising inflation.” A broader set of terms for housing costs, financial security, and long-term investment would help you explain your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You produce some understandable simple sentences, such as “I think this is a positive development,” and attempt a longer explanation using “because.” This shows a basic ability to connect clauses. However, the range is narrow, and errors in sentence structure and agreement are evident in “A middle class person cannot afford to pay rent of his home because he also face many other expences.” The phrase “I think this is a positive development that owning a home can be…” also joins ideas awkwardly, while the final sentence is incomplete. Practise forming complete sentences with clear clause relationships, and check subject–verb agreement and articles. For example, use “a middle-class person … because they also face other expenses” and complete each sentence before moving to the next point.
