Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions by suggesting that people value ownership because it avoids monthly rent and allows them to choose or adapt their home. The examples about a police inspector moving and a family adding security technology are relevant, but the reasons are not always clearly explained, and the first example is difficult to follow. Your view is implied in the conclusion, where you say ownership provides more benefits, but you do not clearly state whether this is a positive or negative situation or develop that judgement. The response is also 14 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your position directly and explain each reason with a clear link to why ownership matters to people and whether its importance is beneficial overall.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. These markers help readers identify the main sections, and the second paragraph develops the ownership idea through examples. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven. The first body paragraph moves from renting to a family’s preferences and then to a police inspector without making the connections clear. Some references, such as “their” and “you,” also make it uncertain whose situation is being discussed. Use one main point per paragraph, connect examples explicitly to that point, and keep pronouns consistent. A clearer sequence of reason, explanation, and example would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “renting,” “beneficial,” “design,” “latest technology,” and “security,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning difficult to understand, such as “construting,” “plane” for “plan,” and “environmental control technolgy system.” Spelling errors are frequent, including “prefore,” “transfor,” and “sec uirity,” and some phrases are not natural in English, such as “live in home on their own choice.” These issues sometimes slow the reader’s understanding. Build accuracy with common housing collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, use “build a home to suit their needs” rather than “built home for their own choice.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional example about a family moving to a new city and a sentence beginning “After some time.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement. Examples include “renting home is may easy,” “you do not need to gives them rent,” and “a man built home.” Several sentences lack a clear grammatical structure, which makes the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise forming accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check verb forms after modal verbs (“need to give”), use articles with singular countable nouns (“a home”), and maintain consistent pronouns and tense.
