Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear opinion that home ownership is positive and identify relevant reasons, especially financial security, stability, and freedom from landlords. However, the response only partially develops the task: the reasons overlap, and claims such as property prices rising or homeowners becoming wealthy are asserted rather than explained or supported. The second body paragraph focuses mainly on benefits, so it does not add much depth to why ownership is especially important in some countries. The conclusion repeats the main points but includes an unclear claim about becoming financially independent “in an early age.” The response is 240 words, so it is 10 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop the ideas fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and the reader can identify the main topic of each paragraph. However, ideas are not arranged in a consistently logical progression. The second paragraph begins “On the other hand,” although it continues to list positive reasons, so the contrast marker is misleading. “As a result” is repeated, and several points are joined without clear links, such as the move from modifying a home to reducing expenses. Capitalisation and paragraph breaks are also inconsistent. To improve, give each paragraph a distinct purpose, order its supporting points clearly, and use linking phrases only when their relationship is accurate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “financial security,” “long-term investment,” “mortgage,” and “retirement,” which helps communicate the central ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, spelling, and word-form errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “homeonership,” “financially independence,” “houses expenses,” and “became wealthy.” The phrase “safety security” is also repetitive, while “homeowners can make more money if they rent their home” is imprecise in context. Aim to use accurate collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; a smaller set of well-controlled expressions would make your argument more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer structures, including “because it offers stability and safety security” and “after paying off mortgage,” but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and errors occur frequently. Some sentences are incomplete: “This is because financial security and stability” needs a main clause, and “In addition, owning a home a long-term investment” is missing a verb. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “homeownership do not need” and “after paying off mortgage,” as well as inconsistent sentence-initial capitalisation and punctuation. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before submitting.
