IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some countries people loves to owning their house rather than paying for their rent, because the want's their privacy as well under security, from my personal aproach its have an positive impact on their life if they are not immigrant.
Furthermore, It's have an positive impact if you personaly live their as well you are national of these countries, where you can use this rental area for other income as well your security in future, other wise you can use this as your personal house where you can live their family, but if you are not owning a house to live its can be charge you hough amount of fee as rent at end of the month.
Moreover, if you are immigrant and move on to other destination you personaly need to rent house there for you upcomigs days when you live there, it's a positive aprouch as well you can invest at your other business well living there without spending hough amount on perchase your personal house, if you not live there for long time. it's have some negative effect on your income where little bit part of your income should be spend on your renting property.
At the end, purchasing or renting are peronaly depend on their self, even if you are natinal or immigrant, so spent your income according to your situation as well. My personal opinion; if you are national and ability to buy your own house where you can live piecefully or if you are immigrant you personaly invest on other businesses where you can got reasonable profit for yoy future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that people value ownership for privacy and security, and you give a qualified view that it can be positive for nationals but renting may suit immigrants who move frequently. However, the explanation of why ownership matters is brief, and the discussion shifts between ownership, renting, investment and immigration without fully developing the links. For example, the claim that a home can provide “other income” is not explained, and the final opinion mainly repeats the national/immigrant distinction rather than weighing the situation overall. Make your position explicit from the introduction and support each main reason with a clear explanation or example. This would make the response more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “At the end” show an attempt to organise the discussion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are combined in long sentences, and the distinction between the benefits of owning and renting is not consistently clear. For instance, the second paragraph moves from living in a home to rental income and future security, while the third shifts to immigrants and business investment. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically rather than showing a precise relationship between ideas. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain it in a logical sequence and use clear references to connect sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “privacy,” “security,” “income,” “rent” and “invest,” so the reader can identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “personal aproach,” “positive aprouch,” “hough amount,” and “peronaly depend”; phrases such as “use this rental area for other income” are also unclear. Repetition of “positive impact” and “personal” limits precision. Build a set of accurate expressions for housing and financial decisions, and check spelling and collocations. Choosing more exact phrases will help communicate your ideas without changing their meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, using clauses such as “if you are immigrant” and “where you can live,” but control is weak and the range of reliable sentence structures is limited. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur frequently: “people loves,” “the want’s,” and “its have” should be corrected to forms such as “people love,” “they want,” and “it has.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic, as in “if you are not owning a house to live its can be charge you.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation in each sentence.
