Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You attempt to explain why home ownership matters, referring to high land prices, limited resources and immigrants’ difficulty buying property. However, the response only partially answers the prompt: the explanation is difficult to follow, and the view that this is a negative situation is not clearly stated or developed. Claims such as “90 percent immigrants” are unsupported, while the discussion of forests, mountains and wildlife does not clearly show how these factors make ownership important. The final call for fair opportunities is relevant but too brief to establish a developed argument. The response also falls 35 words short of the required minimum. To improve, state your position directly, explain the reasons with clear examples, and develop the positive or negative effects in a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to move from reasons for limited housing to the difficulties faced by immigrants and then to a proposed response. Some linking phrases, including “One of the main reason” and “This brings,” signal relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one continuous paragraph, so its stages are not clearly separated. Several connections are unclear: the discussion of Australia’s landscape does not lead convincingly to the claim about immigrants, and “This one” has no precise reference. The ending, “The world needs to pay attention,” does not clearly conclude the argument. Use separate paragraphs for the explanation, your evaluation and the conclusion, and make each sentence build directly on the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “resources,” “population,” “immigrants,” “economy” and “opportunities.” Phrases such as “bread and butter” and “prestige … gold medal” show an effort to use expressive language, but they are not always natural or precise in this context. Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices—such as “socities,” “pessimistic fortune,” “rebleness” and “soverg[in]hty”—make parts of the message difficult to understand. Some expressions are also too informal or vague for an academic essay, including “like countries” and “The world needs to pay attention.” Focus on accurate spelling and conventional collocations, and choose words that express your intended meaning directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “Because mostly…” and one explaining that population is increasing while resources are limited. However, many sentences contain grammatical errors that make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “In some countries owning a home is more precious then renting one in abroad countries” has problems with comparison structure and prepositions, while “the area of their homeland is mostly consist on” has an incorrect verb construction. Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “90 percent immigrants does not own.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, as several ideas run together. Practise complete sentence patterns, accurate verb forms and agreement, and proofread each sentence for clarity.
