In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widelt argued that in some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. This topic, states that it has more positive impact rather then having a negative drawback and i will be provide you my own opinion below.

The Primarly, people argue that owning the house is good rather then renting one. Owning a house can benefit you for a long team like, providing a roof to your family is the basic need and while owning the house so, people do not have to worry that the house own will ask to empty the house or it will be stressfuly job to find a perfect house. House can be used in case for the loan or any kind off financial problem, and owning a house also means a roof for which you do not have to pay rent very month.

Further more, having a home provide a safety and fullfil the human basic need of the hosue and sometimes people think after owning a home they can easily start there family and the childerns do not have to worry to moving from one house to another in case of rented home. In mean case, people who dream of owning their own home sometimes, it force people to take loan to purchase their home but in some cases, it is been seen that some people cannot pay the amount to the loan shake or bank loan then bank will sezie that person home.

In conslusion, having a home is a baics need of a family which provide a roof and in case of emergency so that home can be sold for the money. In my opinion, owning the hosue is important for people who dreams of it when they live in the rented home and it aslo provide a stability for the family and stress free from owning a sweet home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you suggest reasons for valuing ownership, including family stability, avoiding rent and the possibility of using a property to obtain a loan, and you state that this is positive. However, the explanation of why ownership matters in some countries remains general, and several points are asserted rather than developed. The discussion of borrowing also introduces a risk—losing the home if repayments cannot be made—but its significance to your overall view is not made clear. Your position is present, especially in the introduction and conclusion, but it would be stronger if you explained the reasons behind the cultural or practical importance of ownership and supported each with a specific example. The response meets the stated length requirement; 15 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can generally follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from family shelter to eviction worries, loans and rent savings without clearly linking these ideas. Some connectors are inaccurate or mechanical, such as “The Primarly,” “Further more” and “In mean case,” while “In conslusion” signals the final paragraph but does not resolve the earlier point about financial risk. References such as “it” and “which” are sometimes unclear. To improve, organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it in a logical sequence, and use fewer, more precise linking expressions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “rent,” “loan,” “financial problem,” “stability” and “family,” so the basic meaning is usually accessible. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “long team” for a long-term benefit, “stressfully job” for a stressful task, “loan shake” and “sweet home.” There are also repeated forms such as “owning a house” and “home,” with few precise alternatives to develop the discussion. Build a bank of accurate housing and finance expressions, and check spelling and collocations carefully; this will make your ideas clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses with “while,” “that” and “in case,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence construction and verb forms occur frequently and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “this topic, states that it has more positive impact” has an unclear subject and verb pattern, while “having a home provide a safety” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “people who dream … it force people,” the pronoun and verb do not agree with the subject. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “the house own will ask to empty the house.” Practise building clear sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles and punctuation.
